Christmas around the world...

We have been learning about how Christmas is celebrated around the world. This week we have found out that although Christmas isn't widely celebrated in China, special apples are given on Christmas Eve. Mrs Yu kindly gave us the apples that are given in China beautifully wrapped in coloured tissue paper, with Merry Christmas written on them. They not only smelt delicious but tasted it too! Max helped us to pronounce Merry Christmas in Chinese correctly and write it in Mandarin.

In Forest School, we made Danish woven baskets which were very fiddly but looked beautiful and were very effective! We have been very busy creating Christmas crafts ready for the end of term and practicing our performance piece for our Christingle celebration next week.

Year 2 also made their own games in groups and demonstrated their good teamwork skills. They had lots of equipment they could use and over the term we have been learning ball skills, which then gave them the ideas for their own games. Excellent ideas Year 2!

Have a great weekend everybody- we hope to see you at the Santa fun run at Burghley on Sunday ho ho ho!
