Year 2 foragers!

What a fabulous time we had during our Outdoor Learning session this week - educational and nutritional! We visited Mrs Ricketts, who has been very busy tending to our fruit and vegetable area. We had broad beans, strawberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants - so many more to ripen and treat ourselves to in the forthcoming weeks!

We were also very lucky enough to see our sheep being shorn. The fleece felt so soft and warm.

We have been making our own copthill cordial cocktails in maths and estimating and reading amount of volumes within different vessels. We have been recapping telling the time and of course improving our scores in big maths.

In English we have compared different poems - shape poems and kennings. We are getting very good at writing our own kenning poems using alliteration, rhyme and rhythm.

Back to the seaside we have been looking at going to the beach over 100 years ago and seeing their old fashioned bathing costumes, changing huts and early photography equipment. All very interesting. In art we have using our sketching skills to draw Norfolk beaches and have mixed some fantastic water colours - they are good enough to exhibit!

We have seen some amazing productions this week - Year 6's Lion King which we all agreed was phenomenal - the costumes and makeup were so realistic and Reception's Jack and Beanstalk which was equally amazing.

Enjoy the fleeting heat wave!
